Volunteers

The Coles

Trudy and Jason Cole have been volunteering at Lighthouse for many years. Jason hosted the Top 8 from 1991 to 2011 and on that show Chris and Emma often hosted guest spots: Chris’s Corner and Emma’s Place. Trudy has hosted The Country Gospel Show since 1993. Now the entire family comes to Lighthouse on Saturday nights for 2 hours to bring you ON THE ROCK!

Larry Penney

Larry Penney began volunteering with Lighthouse back in 1983, helping Pastor Jack Freisen with the Sunday Morning Country Gospel Show which explains Larry’s desire to hear Donna Fargo’s 1962 gospel classic “You Can’t Be a Beacon” over and over again. Larry volunteers his talents keeping Lighthouse FM’s computers and network up to speed. He is also the designer of our Lighthouse logo and the former VOAR logo. Larry received the 2003 ITAC, Industry Canada Community IT Hero Award.

Steve Butt

Steve has been co-hosting the Gospel Road along with Sherry Griffin since 2004.

He loves helping out at the station by volunteering, and is also a regular co-host during Sharathon. Steve was born a townie, but he’s a bayman at heart, spending a lot of time around Coley’s Point/Bay Roberts area.

Steve and his wife, Goldie are soldiers at the Salvation Army, St. John’s Citadel. Keith Green and Petra were two of Steve’s early-life musical influences that helped him grow in the faith.

He’s a true-blue Montreal Canadiens’ fan, but we don’t hold that against him!

So tune in to hear Steve and Sherry each Saturday night from 10-11 PM as they journey down the Gospel Road.
